The weather today was a bit overcast, which was ideal for a little kayaking trip in Sai Kung. We drove to Ms Ferriday’s house just north of Sai Kung with a picnic lunch. We borrowed a double kayak from Ms Ferriday and also rented another double kayak (and some life jackets) from Ah Kwok Water Sports Centre.
The water was not as flat as it usually is off Cheung Chau, but it was still easy paddling. Felix took some photos with his new Nokia Tough waterproof phone – not the greatest quality but nice to have a record!
We paddled to Yeung Chau, an uninhabited island not far off the coast. We saw a few black kites, but I didn’t notice any white-bellied sea eagles. Once we reached the beach we collected seashells to make a heart on the sand.

Back at Ms Ferriday’s, we washed off the kayak before having our picnic and heading home. Later in the afternoon the rain set in for a good few hours, so we were glad to have chosen the right time to go out!
